What is Saudi National Day?
Saudi National Day, on 23 September every year, commemorates the proclamation of the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by King Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1932. It is celebrated across the Kingdom and is a public holiday.
A fixed Gregorian date
National Day follows a fixed Gregorian date, so it never moves. Its Hijri equivalent shifts about 11 days earlier each year because the Hijri year is shorter; the table at the top of the page shows the date on both calendars for the coming years.
