When is Eid al-Fitr?
Eid al-Fitr is the first day of Shawwal, right after the fast of Ramadan ends. Its date therefore depends on the length of Ramadan that year: 29 days after Ramadan begins if Ramadan has 29 days, or 30 days after if it has 30.
Example on the Umm al-Qura calendar: Ramadan 1448 AH begins on Monday 8 February 2027 and has 29 days, so Eid al-Fitr falls on Tuesday 9 March 2027.

Eid moves about 11 days earlier each year because the Hijri year is shorter. The table at the top of the page updates itself and shows the time left until each date.
Calendar and moon sighting
