When is Eid al-Adha?
Eid al-Adha is 10 Dhu al-Hijjah, in the twelfth and last month of the Hijri calendar. It is preceded by the Day of Arafah on 9 Dhu al-Hijjah and followed by the three Days of Tashreeq: 11, 12 and 13 Dhu al-Hijjah.
The “first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah” run from the start of the month to Eid, so the date of Eid depends on when Dhu al-Hijjah begins, which is announced after the crescent is sought at the end of Dhu al-Qadah.

Calendar and moon sighting
